Panorama: Pritchard Island Beach #2

Thought I'd share this with you guys. I took this at my usual launch site on Lake Washington yesterday. Great conditions, for once. Lake Washington is definitely colder than Erie this time of year, but it's very clean, and the scenery is stunning.

This time I remembered to lock the white balance, and definitely took more time getting the exposure right. It makes all the difference.

It doesn't look like there's much wind, but it's gusting up to 25 knots, dead offshore.

Pelee 2009

I have reserved the cabin shown here for June 13-20, 2009. I am hoping to encourage other BONCers to join me that week. Notice the proximity of the cabin to the sandy beach.
Here is an example of a longstanding Pelee Island tradition. Its called COCKTAIL HOUR. And you can do it barefoot, with out having to de-rig. This cottage is on the north west side of the Island. I am hoping someone will rent MOONREST COTTAGE seen here;http://home.earthlink.net/~fwmunkachy/index.html
for the same week.
MOONREST is on the east shore of the island.

There are a lot of ways to get to Pelee. There is a ferry from Sandusky and also to Leamington Ontario. You can find travel and other accommodations information here. http://66.51.126.108/i?page=home&sid=PP1216318124AW

Pelee is a quite island, there are a few bars and restaurants. But it is primarily a farming community with about 200 year round residents. When there is no wind there is great bike riding on deserted unpaved country roads, a lot of eco-tourist activities, fishing, but it is mostly about lallygagging around for a week.

Taba report

Quite a few BONCERS made the trip to the Taba races May 31 and June 1, 2008.
